Yesterday I did a 23:4 intermittent fast. Stopped eating at 7 pm Thursday and did not eat until 6 pm Friday. Ate from 6-10 pm (game night!)

I'll have breakfast to around 11 am, so just a 13 hour fast for me today....

How do you feel when you fast 23 hrs, Lucy?

I'm about 39 hrs into my 60 hr fast... no problem and I'm not hungry.
Took a blood sugar measurement and it was 136. Under 140 I do nothing, so that's no diabetes drugs since Thursday night.
This is a recurring theme during my long fasts... stable blood sugars without drugs.
I've lost a couple of lbs already and just reached my lowest weight so far.

I'm now seriously considering ditching the salads on Monday, Wednesday & Friday and extending my fasts from 23 to 36 hrs.
Just eating a salad causes me to have to use insulin. Every time I completely remove it from the equation I get a remarkable result.

When I reach my weight goal, I'll hopefully be less diabetic and switch to something like low carb OMAD.
That is something I could stick to long term very easily. And if I happen to gain a few lbs, I'll just go on a fast.

Great! But I was bringing dinner to game night - a tray of Chick-fil-A nuggets. And there was a lot of traffic. That last hour was pretty tough!

I think I could actually go longer if I wanted to, but 23 hours is truly the most I have any desire to do at this point.

Chick-Fil-A tastes good. Too bad it spikes my blood sugar.

Nuggets. You can't eat just one.

48 hrs in! Drank a lot of water today.
Tomorrow morning I'm going to Sunday brunch to eat a many of low carb goodies.
I'll probably have a nice veggie omelette and a plethora of breakfast meats.

So yesterday I ended up with a 12:8 - finished eating at 10 pm Friday, met the kid for breakfast at 10 am and then ate through 6 pm. That should put me back on track for today.

Planning to fast until 3 pm and eat until 7 today - bring on the football!

This fast is about to end...
My previous lowest weight was after my last long fast on New Years... 199.1 lbs,

When I ate after the fast I gained 3 lbs, then had a free day the Sunday after that, adding a couple more lbs.
At the beginning of this fast I had gotten back down to 201.5 lbs.

Just weighed in... 197.3 lbs, lowest weight yet. I'm now down 50 lbs from my peak weight!
I may gain a couple of lbs again today, but if I stay under 200, I'll be pretty happy.
We'll see... I'm going to be very strict low carb today to try to continue to stay off insulin.

Hi! I started with 12:12 on days off and 16:8 on work days. It's evolving though, and I'm doing some longer ones on work days although the plan is still 16:8. Days off are more likely to be 14:10 or 16:8. A few days last week, I had to work late and just went with the flow and didn't try to eat when I got home. To be honest, it was a relief to not worry about food and just let my body rest.

Yesterday I did 15:9 so opened my window an hour later today.
