Nutri-system?
Has anyone tried Nutri-system to lose weight? I am pre-menopausal and have thyroid issues at 36 and have gained weight. Regular diet and exercise keep me from gaining more, but cannot lose. I hear Nutri-system can help. Anyone try or still using it?

My hubbys grandma tried it. She loves to eat and she said that the food was pretty good. She lost some weight while on it but she can't resist going out to eat or going to weddings (pretty much only for the food!!). From what I saw, it really focused on portion control and eating the good stuff (like good carbs versus bad). She said that it recommened eating a salad before every meal.
There is a web site that I have used and many others rave about it, Sparkpeople.com. It has you put in your info and then it gives you calorie ranges to stay in with sample menus for you. It does diet and exercise and it is free. It really focuses on eating the right stuff and the right portions (like nutri-systems). It sounds like you are already doing the right things with watching what you eat and exercise. Thyroid problems can really mess you up and I hope you can find something that will work with it. Good luck!!

I tried it last year. I'm not too picky about food either, but this stuff was the worst. I sent it back after a week of forcing it down.

Want to lose weight?
Eat 5 servings of fruit / vegetables every day, and go for a walk...every day.
Oh...and stop weighing yourself. Seriously.
Dieting is
A) bad for you
B) counterproductive

By dieting I mean I eat healthy and walk 5 miles a day. And drink lots of water.

Chaz, I too have hear this is the best way to go. Diet pills, systems, etc. are worthless. Vegetables, Fruits, exercise, and lots of water.

My dad went on it and lost some 30 lbs in a few months. He seemed pleased although I didn't talk with him much about the actual process so I'm not sure what his thoughts were on the foods offered but he certainly was happy with the results. He's since gained the weight back and is looking to go back on.
