Smile Has anyone tried the Rice Diet?

Hi All,

I'm considering trying the Rice diet that was developed at Duke University and would like to hear what others' experiences have been. Thanks!

The Rice Diet Solution

There are some warnings on there that you should check out. Its a VLC diet and you should see a doctor about it because the first two weeks (if that cal guideline is correct) are way too low for a male for sure. There was a WW2 experiment where they tested rice only or mostly rice diet and results were perm damage or death from nutritional deficiency. You can always restore or fix nutritional damage.
I would be wary of this diet. Its going to make you feel like crap. Anything that is very low calorie does.

Please don't listen to those who know nothing about the intricacies of this diet. This is a great way to detox your body and get on the road to good health; not to mention the great weight loss. Please read the book, don't listen to others. This diet is a way of life; you do not only eat rice; there are many other niceties about this way of eating that you can only get from the book. I tried them all, and with any diet you can regain all you lost; but this book is very thorough and you should do it! Your doctor will be impressed I'm sure.

This diet isn't the best for everyday dieters. This is designed for medical purpose diets. If you are looking for good comparison for this diet and others, check out www.frombedroomtoboardroom.com/wp/?page_id=65 The Rice Diet vs. Cabbage Soup Plan | Fat Loss for Idiots Diet

I have heard brown rice diets are good for cancer, a macrobiotic approach. Not proven even in the least, as it only helps a minority of patients...but some people credit it that diet with a measurable recovery in just their case (it's good to try, but let me emphasize rare). To eat just rice pretty much as a normal every day diet, it's not quite complete in minerals, amino acids, and vitamins to support a healthy lifestyle.
