Yes, I have done Weight Watchers until recently. We had to quit recently because of finances. However, we both lost on the program. When you first start, as with any diet, I think you have to get used to eating less. It gets easier. Usually, I ended up going couple of points over for the day. I still lost weight.

I have done WW a couple times (not because it doesn't work, but because I stopped working it) and it is the only weight loss program that works for me and I have done a bunch. I feel so much better because it is not only about losing, it is about eating healthy and whoa! what a difference in energy level, my fingernails grew nice and my hair shone healthier too. Skin looked better too! So, multiple benefits whereas the "fad" diets may be quicker to lose but you feel like crud.

Anyway, I don't have a ton to lose so I tend to lose much slower, usually a couple lbs in the first 2 wks then a lb a week. Seems like a lot to give up for only a one lb loss, but truly with all the other benefits, it adds up quickly and soon everything is feeling good!

I think if you are still hungry, then you need to find lower point foods to help you fill up a little. If you go to the mtgs you get great advice on what those foods are and where to find them. Amazing what some people come up with!

And, yes, do not wait until Monday when you mess up. Get back on the next day. Don't beat yourself up about it. Unfortunately, that will catch up with you and you may see a gain eventually so don't let losing fool you. It's great, but be careful. We know what we did to get where we are.

Eventually, you will become less hungry for certain things.

Good luck to you!!

I forgot to mention which is a great WW tip. Grap a sharpie and your points calculator and go through your cupboard/fridge/freezer and mark everything with it's points value. Each time you shop before putting the item away, mark it. It's very helpful.

That's a great idea...I will have to start doing it. I do always take my points calculator to the grocery, so when I want to try something new, or just compare items, I have it right there with me.

When I make a new recipe, I calculate the points and write it down right there on the page...plus any adjustments I've made to get it down to that point level, if needed.

So true, I need to pop a points calculator back in my purse. Nothing worse than getting home and finding out how many points something really is that you thought would be low point snack.

Several years ago when I had a very sedentary desk job, I lost quite a bit on WW. I'm currently in a year-long fitness/health challenge sponsored by my work, so I'm going back to a strict monitoring system with my food, and I'm debating going back on WW's points system. I've decided to take a couple of months and count calories, and then take a couple of months to do points, and then compare and assess and see which works better for me.

I do weight watchers and I love it although I agree that I am starving!! I only have about 7 lbs to lose but trust me it makes a HUGE difference on how I look and feel. I reached my "goal" weight for my wedding doing WW and just felt great but 5 months later I'm up 7 or so lbs again - which again I know is not a lot but for me I loose slowly and gain slowly.

Anyway, stick with it b/c like everyone else said it gets easier! I only get 20 pts a day but I have to tell you I never count points on the weekends and I was stil loosing about a pound a week. I work out 5 days a week to so you figure I have around 40-45 extra points to spend from working out and the extra points which I'm sure I do on the weekends!

I was thinking about maybe trying to spread those out so I wouldn't get so hungry during the day. I swear it's like clock work - every 2 hours I'm starving and it doesn't matter if I have fiber, protein, etc - still going to be hungry in 2 hours! My only advice for this is to drink a lot of water to help curb the hunger and again stick with it. It becomes routine and over time of being faithful to WW I do tend to become more full on my 5 point lean cusine lunch

I have a question for all those WW people out there - what is the new Momentum program? I'm not a true member but I have all the info (my dad is a member...shhhhh....) except for info on this new program. Does anyone know about this?

Keep us updated if you think of it - I'd love to know which works better!
