Default Why are fried foods bad?

I was wondering, what actually makes fried foods bad? Is it the breading, the type of oil used, etc? I usually oven fry some of my foods, such as chicken and pork chops, but I only use a small amount of oil to do that. Is it still bad regardless of how it is fried?

It depends on the oil, some oils are high in cholesterol while other are cholesterol free. Some oils are high on saturated fat (coconut oil) while others are low, also they have a higher caloric intake. Meaning anything cooked with butter or oil has more calories vs cooking by oven without oil.

How bad are calories compared to cholesterol, or are they about the same?

I dont get the question, you don't eat calories, you eat Carbs, protein, and Fat, each one have different amount of calories.

Calories is only the energy that a certain product has.

It's the actual FRYING IN OIL part. All that gets in your arteries and clogs them after so many years of eating FRIED FOODS. Tastes so so delicious but not the best thing to put into our bodies if we want to live LOL
It tends to cause an increase in cholesterol and heart disease.

Try to bake them instead mmMMmm also Yummy.

Dr.Ortega has spoken (just kidding)

Overly simplistic but, would you rather eat what you want, how you want and live five years less or eat "right" but not what you want and now how you want it?

I prefer to live my life happy (eating anything that I want without thinking it twice) compared to being miserable and not eating what I want.

Well I don't go the gym(I used to during college), and I am extremely healthy, no health conditions (everything is ok, and check it every month) and still eat what I want with never thinking twice of gain weight or if healthy or not.(it could be genes, since I have no family history of high blood pressure, no diabetes and no high cholesterol.)
