Calories vs Fat intake
Would you gain more weight from 2700 calories per day with 50 grams of fat or 1000 calories per day with 140 grams of fat? Obviously 140 grams is not healthy fat intake.

It is still calories in, calories out so you would gain weight with 2700 calories no matter where it came from if you weren't burning that much off.
It is that simple for weight loss but fat usually is more calorie dense so lowing fat typically lowers calories but I don't know how you could eat 140 grams of fat and only get 1000 calories. Fat has 9 calories per gram so that would be a minimum of 1260 calories.

Must be net calories. Eating a diet of pure fat would almost certainly entail a significant amount of gagging, which burns calories while eating and thus reducing the net calorie gain from the meal. Yes?

Very good point I imagine that if you ate pure sugar and just threw it up, you would lose weight too

Then you must be burning 2700 calories every day.
