Sorry a few bad apples ruin a pie. If you haven't researched HCG I suggest you do. The protocol (diet) was not designed by Mr Trudeau, but by a Dr Simeon's. I am a 51 year old female. I have tried everything to get that darn 10 lb, premenopausal weight off. I have always watched what I ate, don't drink, don't smoke, no drug history. I ran, I walked 4 miles a day, I biked for hours, I weight lifted, I pilated, I hired a personal trainer, been through Weight Watcher's and Jenny Craig twice. Nothing worked.Yes, I too thought, oh no, Trudeau's name was attached to it and with that, it kept me another 6 months with ol' Jenny C paying through the wazoo for the less than satisfactory food you need to buy.Not until I witnessed 6 firemen in a fire station all needing to lose 50 lbs or more (3 of them paramedics and did the research and found only an extremely few, if any, contraindications to the hormone), did I see "proof in the pudding".It's amazing how the diet world hasn't really grabbed on to this and helped America lose the weight they so badly need to. Instead to keep $$ in their pockets they chose to run it down.Until you walk the walk, don't bad talk the talk. Check out Youtube.com HCG and see what's really going on for yourself. This is not an expensive drug treatment...check it out!

Funny how there are so many First Time posters here talking about this. My guess is that they are all ONE PERSON who is creating new accounts to talk about it. Maybe someone should look into seeing if they all have the same IP address.
I know of NO ONE, I mean NO ONE, doctors, nutritionists, personal trainers, etc who say this is a safe and effective way to lose weight. ANYONE can go on a 500 calorie per day diet and lose weight but IT IS NOT HEALTHY TO DO SO. This is one of those totally unhealthy methods that I will always argue against whenever I see someone saying this. It is flat out not safe.

The shot is a hormone that is the same hormone that is released when a woman is pregnant and this nourishes the baby. Supposedly you lose a pound a day because the shot burns off 4,000 calories and you eat 500, so basically 3,500 a day is what you are burning. Then after you lose the weight you slowly eat the normal calories a day that are required for your body type. It sounds like starvation to me, so that is why I am asking if anyone has heard of this. I did a google search and read the infomation but of course that was all positive. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I am so totally afraid of anything not natural when it comes to dieting. If you have read my posts on me losing weight through Weight Watchers, you will see that I am doing quite well. As of this morning on our scale here at home, I have lost 14 pounds in a month which is phenomenal. Losing a pound a day on any diet is not healthy. A good diet allows you to lose from 1-2 pounds a week which is average. On WW if you lose faster than this on a continuous basis, they adjust your diet to slow you down..seriously, it just isn't a healthy way to lose.
There is no quick fix for being overweight. I know I would like to put my fat butt under my pillow at night and have the "Fat Fairy" show up and wave her magic wand over my butt and have it be 40 pounds smaller but it just doesn't happen that way. Last time I checked the only Fairy coming around at night is the Tooth Fairy! Fun, fast and easy to gain and slow, painful and tedious to take the weight off again.
Please be careful with these "fad diets" or "new discovery" diets. The only successful way to lose is to re-educate your bad eating habits and learn how to eat properly with a bit of exercise tossed in for good measure.

Sorry you had such a bad time losing 10 pounds. As we get older, it is harder and harder to lose and maintain a decent weight. Lots of things change; I am 61 years old and can tell you from experience, I have been through the diet nightmare my whole life as I have been obese and now morbidly obese. The ONLY thing that has worked for me in the past is Weight Watchers...I am on it yet again. The problem has been with me...not finishing and following through with the plan once I got to maintenance. I would lose, look great and quit the classes and the program..got cocky because I was lookin good and feeling good and didn't want to pay anymore money. Not the way it works.
As I said before, I am leary of anything not natural with regard to dieting. Do what you want, but I refuse to take drugs or hormones to correct a problem that I should have control over myself without the need to lose weight at break neck speed. Slow and easy and this time finishing the WW program will work for me.
I do not feel like WW is merely taking my money and laughing all the way to the bank with it. I am finding that there are a lot of people who are in the exact same boat as I am..chronic dieters, hate the way they look and find themselves growing older and having this one last chance to get it right. I am re-educating my eating habits, solving my emotional eating issues and making new friends who all understand what it is like to be heavy, to be looked at strangely, to not fit into the booths at a restaurant any longer..they get it all.
Your choice whether or not to get a shot to boost that diet plan along, personally not my choice and I am sure not the choice of thousands of other people who have been successfully through the WW program and have kept their weight off for years.

You know I was thinking the same thing....wondering if the same person was posting under different names. I doubt that many people are all new to city-data and happen to be wanting to post on the HCG thread lol

I have never done it, not will and I don't know anyone that has done it other than the firend of mine that started it this week. I was just trying to get feedback from people that had done it, because I had honestly never heard of it before a couple of weeks ago when she told me she was going to try it.

I have read your posts and you are doing a great job...congratulations! I actually got serious about W.W two weeks ago. I am down 5 lbs. I haven't joined as far as the meetings go, I just calculate the points of everything I eat on my own. I have tried Jenny, Nutri system and Atkins and initially I lost the weight but gained it back. Now I am doing W.W and have been happy thus far. It's the only one I haven't been hungry on. I am like the person that posted about how everything was tried to lose the last 10 lbs. I feel like I have been trying for about 12 years to lose the last 15.
now back to topic. While initially HCG may take the weight off, once the person starts eating again the way they were before, it will all come back on. I am just really skeptical. I mean I hope my friend does well on it, but I have a fear about it too. She said Monday and Tuesday they have you stuff down food and start the shots before you start the 500 calorie a day. She said she started that today and she was really hungry. That is my fear, that she is starving herself. Like you said it's a way of eating and changing habits. Calories in and calories out. I don't think that can all be wrapped up in a shot.

Wow..they are having your friend "binge" eat prior to going on this diet or at least it sounds that way. My goodness..how healthy can that be?? I suppose everyone is different and every diet works different for each of us. I did the Jenny Craig thing and lots more in my 61 years. The only thing that has ever worked for me is WW. I was on it right after my son was born and did well. He is now 41 and I am still trying. Never say never I guess.
I am no diet doctor, nutritionist, or dietician but I do know what DOES NOT work and trust me, this WW plan is wonderful and I too am never hungry. My husband is on it with me and as men do, he is losing quite fast..20 pounds off in almost 5 weeks. He is looking good. Better than this, I have a son who is overweight as well, he is tall and very big. He is also on WW and using the online plan. The online plan offers all sorts of support for people who choose to go that route. Me? I like the people support aspect and actually enjoy the meetings,
Good luck with your weight loss. Whether it be 10 lbs., 15 lbs., or well over 100 lbs. like me, it all matters doesn't it??

This always gives me pause on this forum. I wonder if its someone involved with one of the companies that sell it.
