Storm finally had his knee surgery today and the vet called and said he is doing very well. His kee showed an acute complete tear plus damage to his menisicus. He had chronic damage to the knee as well which is exactly how his pain had gone down The vet seemed very nice and got right down on the ground with Storm and I have to say Storm seemed the most relaxed with a vet I have ever seen him although I do think he would have rather just left the building. We were so so sad to see the vet tech take him and walk away with him as we went to pay and talk to the desk people about all the details. The vet had a "small dog fix, a large dog fix or a giant dog fix" Storm needed the "large dog fix" although the vet said he was almost on the line of giant dog fix since he is 110 pounds. We will pick our baby puppy up in the morning and get complete instructions about what to do with Storm. I guess there will be no outside bandages or sutures which means no big neck collar or bandage changing. This is very good news!!! Can't wait to pick our big pup up!
Glad to hear Storm did well with his surgery! It's always hard for me to leave my pets when they have something like surgery done. It's even worse with me know that they are all mostly seniors.
Well wishes for a speedy recovery!!
I would imagine Storm will be spoiled even more so once he gets home...Ya'll think ? LOL...
Glad the vet said all is well.
Now you can breathe... and stop walking from room to room wondering what your suppose to be doing. Been there many of times & done that many of times.
We worry so much about our babies...
Thanks so much! Storm is home and totally sound asleep The vets and vet techs were very impressed with Storm's great additude and how well he walked on three legs. We were not at all surprised, but, very very pleased to hear this, of course I'm sure when Storm wakes up a bit he will be wanting to move around which will be hard for us to to keep him still though. He has seven days worth of antiboitoics and a couple of days of pain meds.
I hope he continues to do well. Sending healing thoughts his way! It sounds like you have a great vet and that makes the whole process a lot easier! Get Better Soon, Storm!
Better have the treats ready and be prepared to be duped as soon as realizes getting extra treatment will play it for all it is worth. I think he sent email saying he wanted a few steaks on his menu.
Hope heals fast and back to normal in a few weeks.
