they are certainly beautiful dogs and when raised right an amazing animal to behold...but finding a good breeder is definatly a big part of the key!

Oh, I see. I did a search for dogo breeders after reading this thread and wondered about the purity of the lines after I found so many breeders & was wondering if we were getting lots of 'look alikes' being sold as Dogos in the U.S. I remember seeing a show several years back about feral pigs and they talked with some Dogo breeders in Argentina who were very adament that the Dogo club in Argentina had very strict guidelines about where their dogs go because they didn't want the breed ruined with cross-breeding, improper handling, etc. The ones they spoke with even required that purchasers come for an extended stay to go over proper handling and training with the new owners in a hunting type atmosphere. It was very interesting and admirable, the amount of time, effort & work they were putting into the breed.
