A dog in Germany has given birth to 17 puppies, leaving their owner thrilled but fatigued after having to feed them with a bottle for several weeks because their mother couldn't cope with the demand.

There's a video of them, I think on Youtube. They are beautiful Rhodesian Ridgebacks. I hope the publicity helps them get some help and good homes.

Amazing they all survived. Hard to believe that it cost the breeder $1000 per puppy or $17,000 to bring an uncomplicated litter into the world and raise them. I gather they took the value of the lost work as part of the cost.

Wow, my pup came from a litter of 12 (all healthy) and I though that was large!. Poor mom dog!
