I'm from "some sticks" area of Texas and people keep insisting I'm not all that bright either! But that doesn't mean you have an excuse to be an animal hating a**hole. I'm with VP...lets get him in the parking lot!! I've got a pickup truck and a gun rack!!

Default the other animals

I heard that in addition to pit bulls several other animals were seized. Does anyone know what's to become of these poor creatures? Is is too much to hope that some of these are stolen pets that might get to be reunited with their owners?

I can only assume bait dogs and other bait animals were found on the property though I haven't read anything about it. I think if that is the case people will be even more incensed. However, I am afraid it isn't just macho gansta types in this setup. One of the cable networks interviewed(in shadow) a woman who considered herself a "professional" fighting dog "hobbyist. She sat there and said people don't understand about the folks like her who love the sport and breed the dogs specifically for fighting. She has been doing this unabashedly for years. Professional circuit and championship fightoffs! She said the dogs want to fight and please their owners because that is all they know. She could have been talking about the agility circuit. Or wrestling. It is worse than we thought folks.

She and Vick should be put together and let us all loose with them.

The thousands of fighting dogs recovered every year in the U.S. are kept alive only as long as they're needed for evidence, but they can never be adopted out as normal pets.

They're unsociable and they're extremely dog-aggressive. It would be a liability to people if one of these animals were to attack. Sadly, they will be euthanized.

If he did what people are saying he did then he should be locked up for a very long time but if he is in fact innocent (and I say IF because I think that he did it) then I feel very sorry for him because this is going to have repocussions on his career and possibly his future as a pro-football player.

Angry I was surprised to read,

that the dog fighting practice has been going on for a very, very long time.
I went online, after the story with Vick broke, just to read up, and make myself "knowledgeable" a bit.
I can't believe what I've read, and some stories made me physically sick...literally.
I can't believe, that people, so called "humans" are capable of doing this to animals. I am so appalled, shocked, disgusted....I have no words.

And from what I can read in reports, this is so wide spread....virtually every town has either dogfights going on, or has members participating. THAT'S how bad and widespread it really is.
And it certainly doesn't help, that so called "wanna be gangsta" and rapper types, literally glorify this whole image.
IT'S SICKENING, PEOPLE, AND I DEMAND PUNISHEMENT OF PEOPLE INVOLVED TO THE HIGHEST DEGREE!!!!
I would volunteer, in a heartbeat, to torture people found guilty...the same way those dogs had to suffer!

Count me in too! But you know what, think of what humans are capable of doing to other HUMANS. How can we not expect to also have those that will take it out on animals? It is absolutely disgusting and if I ever run against anyone who mistreats animals, I know I would be capable of losing my mind and they will too.
