I started Nanners on her new regimen of less food, no scraps, and more exercise back last October. Yesterday's weigh-in at the vet shows a 22.1 pound loss. I'm going for 15 more. I wonder if dogs plateau like humans do?

Side benefit: I'm fitting into pants I haven't been able to fit into for 7 years.

Can I get an amen?

bailey has been cut WAAAAAAY back on her food and treats, but her forced inactivity has limited her weight loss potential for the moment.....

I fed my dog no salt green beans (canned), and cut back on her weight management food (1/4 cup of food and 1/2 can beans for dinner; 3/4 cup food for breakfast). Didn't exercise her much though, and she lost about 10 pounds. The thyroid meds helped also. She's 8.

Is that last 15 you or her?

That is great.. It is hard for a dog to lose that much weight. My Harley lost 10 by cutting out treats and feeding a better food. I also made sure I fed him less too. He still gobbles it up like it is his last meal.

I could do with a bit more than 15...

I just had to train myself to ignore the beseeching looks she was giving me after her food was reduced by 50%. We're together 24/7, so I don't have work time away from her. (I work out of the house)

After awhile she stopped bugging me, possibly because her stomach shrank a bit? I don't know. She is a trooper who accepts her lot in life without complaint or too much guilting.

I'll post a couple up as soon as I snap them. I can't tell any difference, but maybe that's because we're in each others' company all the time. Her boobies do seem to be saggier these days, and there's a huge difference in the looseness of her collar.
