Any experience on how I can stop this? Anything I can put in their diet that would make this less appealing? Thanks.

Buy the Lawrys seasoned salt stuff. It's a small bottle with the spices and stuff at the store. It's got a yellow top.

Got the tip from a friend who got it from our vet, it works. I was shocked. Just sprinkle a bit of that over each of their food dishes each time you feed. May take a week or two to stop it, but it will. Our GSD was horrible about that until we tried this and it worked great.

The only tried and true method I know of is to pick it up before he/she has a chance to snack.

my dogs don't eat dog poop, they only eat cat poop because it is rich in protein.

just buy a better food for them, one with a higher protien level and lower grain base and after a day or two it'll stop the ah... snacking, I've done this numerous dogs in the past and it works every time

Have you ever thought of feeding them quality food or giving them vitamins so they are not feeling malnourished??????????????????

Try different remedies to see what works best for you. The best one I've found is to add a bit of PLAIN canned pumpkin to the dog's food. If you have more than one dog you must add it to all the dogs' food. Be sure it is plain canned pumpkin and NOT the canned pumpkin pie mix. Most dogs absolutely love the pumpkin, it's good for them but evidently makes the poop taste bad. And feeding a high quality diet could help and certainly would not hurt, but there is no guarantee it would solve this problem.

Along with the above be sure to clean up the poop immediately whenever possible and start training a strong "leave it."
