Our gsd's have to run 12mi for their BH title

Driller1,I knew someone would shout abuse when it isn't
Some have humanized their dog to the point they come before a human does.
Or maybe they don't want the dog to get there sweater dirty and mess up the dogs pedicure.:think
:
This, working dogs bred to work need to work, hunting, sleding, racing, herding, carting...if these dogs don't get the conditioning and exercise they need and were bred for they'll go nuts and owners end up with unhappy crazy dogs. It absolutly drives me nuts when people get a working/hunting breed then complain when fido has bad behaviours due to lack of exercise and stimulus. I abosolutly love watching border collies work, but would I own one...never, they are a working dog and we'd both be unhappy. One of the top BC herding competitors and trainers in my area keeps his dogs outside in airy kennels when they are not working, they aren't pets, they are working animals, he treats them with affection but not like one would with a house pet. Those dogs live to work and their rewards are getting to work the sheep and it shows. BC's make horrible house pets and even obedience and agility trainers who use BC's to compete are hard pressed to keep them stimulated enough to keep them from unwanted behaviors.

If people want a pet get one BRED to be a pet, not a breed bred to work.

Do you let your dogs off leash while on your property?-pict0259.jpg

Here is Rip with his Easter toy. (less than five minutes)

I would never abuse an animal.

For one thing with Rip's indoor kennel, outside holding pen and tie out dog house, plus his cost, trainers GPS devices vet bills and travel we have easily over $25,000 into Rip.

Yes, he is beautiful and he looks so regal there, but you can tell he wasn't so dignified a minute earlier!

See, that would be Shep too, with my kids' toys if we didn't stay on him. We got him his own stuffed animals, but they wouldn't last more than a few days. I can't keep shelling out $/week for stuffed friends that don't last.

Ha! We do too! We take it away when he starts biting off pieces.

Bluesky, I also bought Shep a Kong, a ginormous nylabone, and some other very strong rubber bone. He does chew on them, but he still likes going after fluffies. NO idea why. I am always on his case about the kids' stuffed friends.
