I was doing yard work and watering plants and I cruelly forced the dogs to stay outside with me. Lanie stood at the back door for about 5 minutes, but I wouldn't let her go in (temp was 70, not raining, no reason she couldn't be outside). About a minute later I noticed she wasn't there anymore. I didn't see her in the yard. Turns out she escaped. I ran into the house to get my phone, go to the front door, and what do I see peering in one of the sidelights? Lanie's little face! I guess she decided if she couldn't go in the back door she'd go in the front

That must have scared you half to death but it is funny. That baby wanted in badly.
That's so funny, at least you have a smart dog! I was taking PC to the vet and my husband was helping me lift him in the car because I'm not allowed to lift him anymore. We went through the garage and into the driveway, where our other dog, MB, is never allowed and he knows it.
As my husband is putting PC into the truck, I tell my husband that there's a Bulldog in the middle of the street. It then dawned on us that MB had escaped. Yea, he's not one to come back when called which is why he has to be behind a fence at all times!
When Jazz was alive and we woud be at my parents if I left to go out and did not crate her she would jump the fence and race over to my brothers house and either bark at the front door or even jump their fence into their back yard. They lived a house away from my parents She seemed to figure if she could not be with me my 3 nephews were 2nd best! She started that as a very young puppy!Dogs are smart!
Lanie must have thought OK I go in via the front door sometimes maybe it is open. Too cute!
