They are being raised to be Service Dogs for Wounded Warriors.

A question: A yellow lab mated with a black lab and all the puppies are solid colored. Why not splotches or brown or some sort of markings? Would appreciate a lesson in dog genetics.

Okay, I shall be watching this all summer, so you are to blame in advance for my house, garden, dogs and husband being neglected!

This is my third session of puppy cam. I watched a beautiful litter of goldens, then great danes and now Olive. Yes you can spend hours and it can be addictive but when they start getting personalities and you see them interacting with people it gets really fun. And the wonderful and patient dog mamas are inspirational!
With the first litter the online community was hilarious. They had t shirts made and went on trips to visit the puppies. The questions and comments (scroll down past all the pictures) were very informative as well.

And watching the great danes being born right in front of our "eyes" was so much fun. My girls were ecstatic everytime one came out. All the fun and none of the gore!

So why should I be the only one with dust bunnies, weeds and grumpy husband!

In labs, it's kind of like how a brunette and a blonde have children. The children are either brunette or blonde (not splotched). Spots are under the control of an entirely different gene. Here's a web site that explains it pretty well. Dog Coat Colour Genetics

Already have the dust bunnies, weeds and grumpy husband, so I'm good!

Thanks for this, they're adorable!!! And what a great cause; so encouraging to see people spreading the love in whatever way they can to our fellow humans!

My husband will be out of the country for the rest of this month (flies out tonight) and the second full week of July. I don't have to clean house or cook dinner for weeks and weeks!!! But I definitely will miss him, and I can't figure out how to explain his absence to the dogs. This is his first really long trip since we got both of them, and they adore thair Daddy.

Have him Skype with you and the dogs. Dogs can relate to skype and certainly the voice!
