Default My Dog Steals My Seat...???

I'm not sure why she does this, but am curious why when I get up my dog will take my seat where I was sitting? She does this everytime I leave the room...I have a few thoughts, but not sure. Anyone know why ???

I know this is the dog thread but two of my cats will do this. They'll just wait and wait for my husband to get up....and it's funny....sometimes it's immediate and sometimes they'll wait a few seconds til my husband is out of sight....and then they'll give a 'are you going to make me get up look when he comes back'.

I thought it was the "warmth" thing too during our cold winter. But it's hot now and she's still doing it. I thought it was because that's the last place she saw "mama" and wanted to wait until I came back...Who knows for sure. I tried to find something about it online, but didn't find any info...Just thought I'd put it out there for all you dog lovers..

Hahahaha! That's what my doxie does. If there's a spot that's like dented on the couch, she'll wanna curl up and lay in it! Lol

Our dog is the same way, my husband's barely standing to go into another room and she's right there, keeping it warm, LOL.

My dog needs help now on the coach which I do allow.
However she does have her side, and I so I did think my side. If I leave dog
has taken over my side, why I just need the end table for light to read?

I guarantee that it's a "taking the king's seat" more than anything else mentioned in this thread.

Both of my dogs will do this. They will take our (hubby and my) seats. But they also take each other's seats too.

It's a power game to them.
