Good thing he wasn't in a hospital hospital. Bc there have people denied that request.

Not in hospitals around here. So long as the animal is vaccinated and clean, they are allowed to visit long-time patients (not in the ICU). I've even seen a parrot brought in. It's a no-brainer that a pet owner would be cheered and comforted by their pet's visit.
