And I bet the cyclist had water to drink to replenish the fluids he was losing through his exertion...plus he was sweating through is skin and riding into the wind, which provided automatic cooling of his system.

What a moronic owner. Not long ago there was a case in FL where someone left 2 pugs in a car for hours while they shopped - temps and humidity were very high. One pug died, the other was near death til a wonderful pug rescue stepped in to help the surviving pug and get it vet care ASAP. No dog s/b exercised profusely in hot muggy weather, esp. brachycephalic breeds (pugs, bostons, bulldogs, shihtzu's, lhasa etc). I hope someone recognizes the dog and the cops can trace the owner somehow (maybe the dog is microchipped but somehow I doubt it). Poor dog, unbelievably what a thoughtless dope the owner was, thank goodness someone had the sense to get the dog to a vet.

Asshat.
And bulldogs have that pushed-in face that makes heavy breathing a problem as the previous poster pointed out.

Whoa.......

If you are talking about Rip he has all ready had his run today because of the heat.

We are back and it is 61 degrees here now.

He is sprayed with "Deep Woods Off" for extra protection from bugs.

We have water with us and check his heart rate.

You are welcome to go with us on his work out anytime.

Rip is an athlete and has to train.

BTW, I would have responded to the abuse allegations sooner but, I avoid reading this type of thread until I am in a strong enough mood to handle it.
Hopes, would you not find it abusive to ask Rip to run 20+ miles in competition or, a live hunt with no training???

Do you realise we have over $10,000 in this dog??

Not buildings and kennel, just the dog.

Did you know one of the hardest things to do with Rip is to get him to walk the first and last round of the training???

I read about this yesterday in the Palm Beach Post. Someone must know who owned this dog in that area. I hope they find it in their heart to turn the coward in.

I believe there are now a flood of people asking to adopt the bulldog!!! People are chipping in to pay for medical expenses as well.

I almost didn't open this thread because I hate hearing about these animals who suffer by stupid humans. I'm glad I did, because the dog was rescued. May this dog make a full recovery and be placed in a home where people will dote on him, pamper him, and treat him like he's the world's greatest dog.

So glad he survived. I doubt I would survive the Florida heat, and I'm not covered in fur!
