I can understand why you would hate some people, but for the most part, people are good. No one on this thread would be abusive to animals. The most abuse my animals get, is that I don't pet them 24-7...which is what my dog thought I should do. That, or throw his ball.

My wish is that the dog will get an excellent home.

I hope things work out with Dasher and your other dogs and that he soon will be in his new loving home. Blind dogs do quite well, heck dogs with almost any handicap do as unlike us humans they just go on with life and make the most of it that they can.

Phoenix deaf since birth limited eye sight since birth and now only limited sight in one eye as the other eye had the ablation done so does not even see light and dark has never known that she is any different and has had a normal dogs life Amazing Aussies in Arizona deals with deaf and blind and combos of such aussies eveyday and they all seem to do just fine. Amazing aussies is a great source of informantion for any one that is looking into owning a blind or deaf dog or would love to add such a dog to their home..... they do have some cuites.

I agree, I could really hate people if it weren't for the ones who rescue what other people do to the critters. Everything that comes in my door has been a rescue and I wish I had enough room for more but at some point, I have to consider when that would hurt the ones I already have.

Support the shelter of your choice and remember to put them into your will so if your life is shorter than expected, they will be cared for when you are gone. There are other posts on how to do this.

Hey all,

Sorry for the delay in getting back. I went up to the rescue on Monday morning and met Dasher and the owner of the rescue. She has some concerns as although we live on a 35 acre ranch, we don't have a fence. She is afraid of him losing his way which is understandable. Our other dogs are trained on an invisible fence. Although our 10 year old Golden that we recently rescue is not trained and we don't let him stay out by himself. She mentioned that she has several inquiries for rescuing Dasher that she is supposed to meet this week. I let her know that our home is available if it doesn't work out.

He is such a great dog! He is being well cared for at the rescue. They keep him in the office with them during the day and gets a lot of supervised outside time. The rescue is great, they specialize in special needs animals - dogs, cats, horses, goats, you name it! I truly believe that she has Dasher's best interests at heart which is the most important thing. I'm sure Dasher will get rescued by a great family even if it isn't ours.
