I can't even enjoy a morning cup of coffee.. One thing I used to look forward to in the mornings and afternoons.
I have a young, 4yr old, Rat Terrier who knows the sounds and smells of me pouring a cup of coffee. He will bolt from wherever he is and run up to me and sit by my feet staring and whining, just so he gets the last couple sips.. Ive tried pouring him some in a saucer, nope... He won't drink it unless it comes from the cup I'm using and it has to be the bottom of the cup.. UGH, I feel like I have to rush and drink it fast so he will leave me alone...
He doesn't even beg for food like this.. only coffee...
One time, I was having a cup after dinner. My daughter was sitting next to me on the couch. He jumped up and put his paws on my legs and layed there whining. My daughter told him to be quiet. He growled, she growled, then he jumped at her and bit her.... My coffee and the dog went flying...
LMAO I got a little rattie and she loves morning coffee with me .. I make a big cup sip a bit and then pour her some in a saucer and sit back to enjoy the rest of mine .. Honestly she is so funny about that riutal in the mornings .. .. I think she likes the taste of coffee since I drink mine black .. but its "our time" of day so yeh its cute and funny ..

YES, I did tell my daughter that what she did wasn't the smartest thing by getting in his face...
I gave him a stern tap on the nose and showed him his bite mark, he was sorry, he licked her...
It started out as a fun thing, him loving coffee, now its kinda annoying..
Oh please do .. Ratties are the funny guys of small dog IMHO anyways and to have one who likes / LOVES coffee is a hoot .. will he drink it black? or do you add stuff to it?
perhaps break up the routine a bit so you can get back to enjoying your morning cup. give him "dips" mine gets a dip every so often. dip a spoon and let him lick it. make him wait or go lay down for a while then call him over and reward him with a little dip. a smart dog needs a bit of a challenge. just like with any begging you have to set the limit between cute and obnoxious
DO NOT feed the dog donuts as dip'n food tho that means a fat rat and a even fatter owner LMAO... Neves loves donuts as well yup a fat rat and a fat owner and bad me but its hard to say no to her

He's usually pretty good about everything else...
So pour him his own cup and don't make him wait.
I cannot think of anything more terrifying than a rat terrier strung out on caffeine. Yikes.
