My sister-in-law has one. Beautiful, calm, smart, neat little dog.

It did scream at one point (when it was scared) and kept screaming and that freaked me out. Apparently, there is a shiba scream. But it was a puppy.

I saw one for the first time at a property where I work- what a great dog! It reminds me of a basenji on steroids and has such a personality. The owner of the one I know is the alpha, but I can see that the dog isn't any sissy. I was surprised to learn here that they require a lot of grooming.

I've only had mixed-breed shelter dogs, but if I were to get a pure bred, this breed would be top of my list. I just love this breed.
