A miracle dog that did not die when put into a gas chamber has come to New Jersey for adoption after his incredible survival.

Daniel the beagle was a stray in Florence, Ala., when he was placed into a shelter by animal control officials. After he was not claimed or adopted, he was put into a gas chamber to be put down with other unadopted dogs.

How heartbreaking. We just adopted a couple of months ago. Can't understand how anyone could have given such a young, handsome, well-behaved sweetheart away. Thanks for sharing.

Hahahaha. He handle the gas chamber like a boss.

Poor thing. He's so cute. Same as others have said when I look at my pups, how could anyone give such a beautiful pup away?

Hopefully he'll find a family who'll never give him away and in return, he'll love unconditionally.

I'd adopt him in a heartbeat. Love beagles. He won't have trouble finding a home. The foster mother is already getting hundreds and hundreds of adoption requests for him.

Sadly beagles are a dime a dozen in this rural area and so many wind up at our local pound and never get adopted or sent on transport to regions that have a higher demand for them.

I'll have to check out this story and maybe contact the rescue and see if they might be able to take some of our beagles and beagle mixes from time to time. We've got two that have been in foster care for over a year now.

I had read that there were a lot of people wanting to adopt him, but a lot of those people stated they were not interested in adopting any other dog except him .

In my eyes, none of those people should be considered for any dog! Makes me wonder what their mentality is to only want this one little dog, when there are thousands of equally sweet dogs out there

I hate the deep southern states, those rednecks are horrible with animals and do not spay & neuter them. Most live on chains and if lucky have a rickety old wooden dog house for protection. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am constantly posting petitions on FB to shut those barbaric gas chambers down.
