I love pictures of Nanners. Except for that second picture I'd never have thought of Shar Peis. But in that one she does have a lot of extra skin. What a cutie she is.

No offense taken. Since those pics were snapped, she has lost a ton of weight. I need to pose her in similar poses so the difference can be seen. She had a weigh-in at the vet this morning: 73 pounds, down from her high of 115 when the top and middle pics were taken.

The sad thing is, Pit Bulls were once "The Family Dog" - the Golden Retriever of the middle class for the first half of the past century. They were even nick named the "Nanny Dog" for their affection for children!

Their popularity was copied in popular culture of the day. Petey of "Little Rascals" fame was a pittie.
The logo for Buster Brown? Buster's loyal companion? A pit bull!
The dog in the old RCA Victor advertisements? Another pit bull!

Looking for a family dog? Look no further than your local pound. Want a puppy? There most likely will be a litter available several times per year.

It is so sad what some thugs - and the media have done to this loving, smart and playful breed.

Petey was an AmStaff, I believe. He was owned by my great-uncle, who worked for Hal Roach Studios.

pal the origional petey was an american pitbull terrier. pal was poisend and his prodginey (who were dual registered as AKC am-staffs and UKC pitbulls) followed the role. then in the remake an american bulldog was used too

so it realy depends on which version of the show/movie your watching LOL!

font, nanners definatly has a bit of a pei look in those pics, big blocky head, wrinkles in the laying down pic and the eyes...
need to see sone updated pics for comparison but in those pics id say pei is definatly a possibility somewhere in the line.

Default Mutt or rottie?

here is Kimora (she is a "rott-pei" rottweiler and shapei mix i adopted) next to Buddha and Corky pure shar-pei.

Sometimes I think kimora may have some pit in her, her body is bigger, sharpei are usually 45-55 lbs at most.
