I just got this dog today from an old friend who just had a baby and couldn't keep her. I was just curious to see what you guys thought about her breed. The shelter she was adopted at originally said she is a german shepard mix but, mixed with what?

thats a tough one...very unique looking, i definatly see shep, with the head width im seeing some kind of tight faces bully, mabe bull terrier, and possibly some greyhound or similar short haired sight houndy type breed because theres alot of lenth in those toes (hare foot) very common in sighthounds and some terrier breeds

Thanks you guys! Her name is Etta James. She had the name when I got her so I just call her Etta. The people that had her before me bought her the day after Etta James died so they named her after her haha.

Oh those ears are too precious! I see Shepherd in her snout, and Foxy has a good point about her toes, she's really adorable.

Does anyone else see Great Dane? Maybe? If you squint your eyes really hard? LOL!

You all know outbacknv's Malinois crew, right? For some reason, as soon as I saw the picture of the OP's pup, I thought Malinois. Do you guys see it too, or are my eyes going bad?

Is she full-grown and if so, how tall and how much does she weigh? If on the small side, I could go along with chihuahua or if larger maybe a greyhound like someone has suggested but the ears seem pretty erect and usually I think you would be looking at two breeds with erect ears to produce them in a mixed breed. Do the ears always stand or only when the dog is at "attention"?
