No way! My sister has a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever and I haven't seen many others... ever. My sister's dog is a sweetheart.

BICHON Frise

Pros

Intelligent, clean, affectionate, requires little exercise, doesn't smell like a dog, medium sized, generally healthy, doesn't shed, less allergenic, mild temperament, strictly an indoor pet, not a digger

Cons

Grooming, tolerates only a little exercise, not a good guard dog (see affectionate)

Conclusion:

Mine is perfect. Your mileage may vary.

patriot201, he's pretty awesome, great in the water and a big love bug! If we get a second dog we may look into another nova mix or a pure bread nova. Tollers are awesome!

Labrador Retriever. She's the sweetest and best behaved dog I've ever seen!

My favorite, obviously is the Wire Haired Fox Terrier!
I can't have one, though because I have two cats, so I have three Cocker Spaniels (they don't try to bite the cats!).

Big dog favorite...Great Dane. I had one decades ago, and he was just too sweet!

Just because a certain breed isn't known for being good with cats doesn't mean every individual is that way. If you find yourself wanting another dog, check for Fox Terriers being fostered in homes with cats. For instance

Petfinder Adoptable Dog | Wire Fox Terrier | Doylestown, PA | Beetle * VIDEO!

Thanks for your thoughts. I would love to have another one, but I haven't had good luck with Petfinder. I work full-time and that doesn't seem to be acceptable to any of the shelters that advertise there.

Anyway, my Cockers are only three years old! I expect them to live at least another ten years!! (I hope)

That might be because leaving multiple dogs unsupervised with cats, is asking for heartache. Adding a new one into the mix, then leaving them alone all day is not a good idea.
