I have to share this here, because only other dog people will understand how much this means.

Jack was having some stiffness in his knee for a few days and our veterinarian determined that he has a torn ACL (I guess it's a CCL in dogs). He had successful TPLO done on his left knee a little over a year ago and now he needs the same done on his right knee. I had some very large and very unexpected expenses this winter and I was scrambling, trying to figure out how I was going to come up with the money.

This morning, my mom called and said, "Your sister told me Jack needs surgery. I don't want you to worry about it. It's taken care of. We consider those dogs our grand kids, too." She and my dad contacted the hospital to pre-pay for the surgery and medication . How amazing is my family? Now I just need my boss to not make me travel for a few weeks so I can schedule the operation.

Your parents are awesome!!!!! I hope that your boss will step up to the plate and do what he/she can do to make this bearable for you.

Poor Jack. Poor baby.

Your parents are amazing! My parents (more so my dad) loves my dogs and cats, but I'm pretty sure they would never offer that. Hope Jack feels better soon.

Your parents are great.I am sure they love their granddogs but It is also that love they have for you as they know what Jack means to you and how important he is to you.We never stop being our parents kids and they want to see us happy no matter how old we are. What great gift they have just given you! ( yes my parents considered my dogs and my siblings dogs as Granddogs)

They are the best. I'll pay them back, but I'll never be able to thank them enough. I wish I could give them a big hug, but they live 2500 miles away.

I have seven granddogs, one of which lives with me.

I have provided free in home dog sitting and paid for a couple to have their teeth cleaned.

The pups mean so much to my sons, how could I not?

Godiva, who lives with DH and me, is diabetic and hypothyroid. She also had a bad knee which has gotten better since our house has fewer steps. She goes with me when I visit to get some time with her original pack.
