How do you keep your dog from jumping up against the screen door? My 1yr old lab keeps destroying mine...

There is something called pet guard wire. May be called other stuff too. But its got little squares of wire. They aren't sharp enough to hurt the dog or cat, but they pinch. As I have a free standing gas heater, not only is it on the entire lower half of the screen door (with two layers of screen, mosquito rated in front where my labsize dog can't mess with it) but the heater has a 'hearth, with it in front so dogs and cats don't get curious about the heater.

Lumber supply places carry it. It's good stuff.

LOL those pesky Retrievers! (We have 3 of them) What we use is linked below. Cost in total was about 40 bucks and took a weekend to replace the torn (again) screen. Its worth every penny!

Absolutely Amazing Pet screen doors saves family pets petscreen doors dogs cats approved

Other than that, positive reinforcement training to NOT jump up on the door is the only thing that works consistantly. It does however take some time and patience to work. If you need some instructions on how to do that, let me know.
