coyotes are highly inteligent, super high preydrive and DONT have a tight social structure...this means they dont NEED you and its rare for a coy to respect a "pack leader" theres constant shifts in a coy group that woulnt occur in a wolf pack...
when mixed with a dog these traits are often exagerated, especially when bred to dogs who are geenrally quick learners with "dominant temperments" (ie sheperds)
you get a dog whono longer "NEEDS" you as a pack leader and will challeng you on a dialy bases...one who will 9 times out of 10 eat your cat, small dog, kids rabbit, the neighbors squirrels, who can climb an 8 ft fence an ig to china in about 3 minutes...who will not take to traininglightly and will RUN given the slightst hint of "hey lets go!" coy mixes ten to be almost impossible to house break and even if neutere early will mark their trritory with a musk skunk like oror much like foxes do.
can it happen...sure...are ther epeople out there with coy-dog (or dog-otes depending on which parent is male and which is female) absolutly...but it takes a VERY VERY VERY knowledgable and dedicate person to keep one of these mixes (same goes for wolf dogs) an they are not "PETS" in the traditional sense.
personally i think there are plenty of og brees out there with such varying degrees of looks, temperments and personalities that the iea of mixing in coyote, is just ridiculous and redundant.
I had a coydog. Pic of him in my profile. He was a handful and answered to me alone. He was by far the smartest dog I ever had...and the most formidable and unpredictable. I happened upon him and a littermate...they were not bred purposely. Both eere unruly as pups and hard to train. The one i kept was a good dog ...for someone with lots of room and a good kennel. My advice ....get something else. Coydogs are NOT pets.
