After Nora's spay she was in the cone for quite a while, and this was when she was around 1.3 years old and never stopped moving (or destroying !). She used to carry her toys around in it and launch them from the cone. It was hilarious. They are very resourceful...
At times I believe the "Cone of Shame" should NOT be limited to use for animals, there are a few humans that would be well suited to wear it.
