I have been asked to overnight dog sit two labradors.
I'm thinking about all the possibilities, but I'm sure I'm forgetting to consider some of them.

Anyone done this before, and things did not quite go the way you expected?

My pet is not a dog, so no experiences with dogs.

1. dogs don't let me get any sleep.
2. dogs need to go to the vet.
3. dogs damage something in the house, or yard, or the neighbor's yard.
4. ooops, I have run out of possibilities. Tell me the others.

Thanks.

I don't get it. Are you asking for a list of everything that can go wrong?

ooops, that is one I did not think about. Good one to remember.

Dog dying in my presence would be one.
Dog bites ME and I need medical attention.
Dog hairs all over my clothes, if these are the long haired variety.
Dog tears my shoes up.
Dog poops on my clothes.

There are no other pets in the house such as a bird that might get out of it's cage and get injured.

Do you know these dogs very well? If not, spend some time with them and get to know them so you'll all be more comfortable.
Ask their owner for the vets name and number and have them let the vet know you'll be watching them. They could even give the vet a credit card authorization in case something goes wrong. It probably won't come up, but if it does this will help.
Damage in the house? Ask the owner if they usually need a crate when unsupervised. Unless they're under two and still chewers, they shouldn't damage anything.
How would they get into the neighbor's yard to damage something? If you don't have a fenced yard, let them out on a leash only.
Not letting you sleep, are you asking about barking? You really need to ask the owner their habits, and how she deals with things.

Oh I see some new stuff. Poop on your clothes? Howard, I know you're a worry wort but really?
Labs do shed. They sell sticky rollers that work for this.
Keep your shoes in the closed closet.
Bite you, I doubt they'd send aggressive dogs to a non-dog person's house especially.
Die in front of you? I'd say the odds are 1,000,000 to one.
Maybe you should say, I'm sorry but I can't. This seems like it's going to be too stressful for you.

The dogs can kill and eat your pet.

My cat is a dog chaser.

I will be pre-introduced to the dogs.
Having not lived around a pet dog 24 hours a day, in decades, it will be a very rewarding experience.

I do have one pet peeve.......sorry.......one dislike. I hate to be licked by a dog.
I'll wear long pants the whole time, that is a certainty.
I've seen dog owners just let the dog's lick their face like they enjoy it. Not me.

I'm sure the dogs are well mannered and I see no issues.
It's only going to be 3 days.

Nothing bad happens and the dogs go home to happy owners.

In all seriousness, I would keep your cat separated from the dogs when you aren't there. It's much safer that way.
