About a month ago, I had a 16 week old, Lethal White Aussie fella named Magwitch who was dumped into a shelter in Texas to be killed because he is deaf and mostly blind.... a wonderful woman in Pennsylvania (I think) who is a dog trainer and also works with deaf-blind children heard about him and decided to rescue him so he could be trained to work with the children she works with....

he has a facebook page that keeps us all up to date on his progress..... I can NOT believe how much he has grown in the last month.... he is a very smart little fella and is learning so quickly.... the facebook page is public, so you probably don't even need an account to peruse it:

and he was a big part of this news story from a few weeks ago.....

What a neat story.... It is so nice to see that some people still try to make a difference in the world we live in.

He is adorable and I know he will grow up to be one special pup. The people that I have met who have given these pups a chance by adopting them have been so happy they did. These pups do not seem to know they are any different then any other dog and hopefully the kids he works with can learn to see themselves in that light too. My Phoenix was by far the sweetest dog I have known and most people did not have a clue she was deaf and vision limited. I still miss her sweet soul.
