I always look at the ingredients on dog treat labels and get frustrated with how much crap is in them. I'd feel much better making the treats myself and giving them to her so I know everything is without preservatives, chemicals, and aren't processed crap. I googled some recipes but I'm looking for some that any of you might have made and be able to hear your opinions on them.

Preferably ones that aren't too costly. I will try to get as many organic foods as possible though

So just share your dog treat recipes! Bailey will appreciate your help

The Novice Chef » Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits

These are pretty good with the almond bark melted on them (yes, I have eaten dog treats and am not ashamed :P )

DD found this recipe on-line & tried it...

2 cup flour
1 cup oats
1/3 cup peanut butter
1 1/4 hot water

Flour for rolling, egg wash optional...
My Pyr seems to love it (with extras on) especially when I smear more peanutbutter / creamcheese / sourcream on the biscuits.

Maybe will try th sub that peanutbutter with bacon & drippings...
Then he will definitely go gaga over it.

Ooh both those recipes seem like they'd be good! I will give each a shot. Thank you!!

I saw this other recipe online that I wanted to try but noticed one of the ingredients were garlic powder. I heard garlic is toxic for dogs so I got nervous about trying it.

Has anyone seen the dog treat maker at Bed, Bath and Beyond yet? Fashioned the same as all the other pancake, waffle stick, donut, cupcake makers. Might get it this weekend w/ the 20% off coupon and use the recipes I saw on here. My dogs like the peanut butter taste.
