...against FAILED FOSTER SYNDROME.

I just got a message from our newest foster family - that I mentored - that they want to adopt their very first foster dog because they have fallen in love with her and want to give her a forever home.

I got busy, they live about an hour away and I just didn't get around the getting them vaccinated so this would not happen. My bad.

Very good for the dog and I'm pleased. I hope they will still be interested in fostering for us.

My name is ________ and I am a foster failure. Will probably fail again the next I attempt to foster. I am weak.

Me too. Once for my shelter, once freelance. In my own defense, the dog from my shelter had been there a long time and chances of her finding an adopter weren't the greatest. But I knew within a half hour of her coming into our home she'd fit in fine, my other dog was thrilled with her, and as long as my husband was OK with it she wasn't going anywhere.
Our youngest cat, we took in, vaccinated, neutered, and started looking for a home, but as time went on I started hoping no one would want him. again.

I would love to foster a dog and I've even looked up info on doing it for a doxie rescue here but I don't think the vaccine would work for me. I'm really not in a position where I want another permanent dog...but I admit I am weak and I'd get attached and I wouldn't be able to let him or her go.

Glad the pup found a great forever home though!

Well, by fostering, you can keep helping more animals. So if adopting means you can't take more in to foster, that's kind of a bad thing, although it's always good when an animal gets a home.
We have about all the animals we can handle now, so we really can't foster. But I don't think we're really cut out for that anyway (another blush). I have to do my part by volunteering and donating.
