Mariah got a bug bite above her right ear last week. It has ended up infected and raw because she won't leave it alone.

So......say hello to our little friend the "E-collar". It makes for one very unhappy Chessie! She will just have to live with it though since a scab has finally formed over the area so it can start healing.

Besides......the collar is kinda cute on my girl. Doesn't she remind you of a "giant furry Morning Glory"?

LOL those things crack me up. I imagine, if they are capable, dogs are very embarrassed to be wearing them.

I put one on Bella to see how she would react and she did NOT like it!

LOL - too funny! The blue is bad enough. I did laugh out loud when they fitted it on her. I think I might have hurt her feelings.....

The director did the voice-over for the golden retriever himself. I suspect he was channeling his own dog because his inflection and personification is spot-on. Everything that dog did in the movie cracked me up.

If it makes you feel any better, when I was at the pet store with PC the other day, I had him try one on just because I wanted to see how he would react! I took pictures and laughed at him and the poor thing was so embarrassed! He never needed one after his neuter, because Bulldogs don't have the capability to reach their, um, parts! They just don't bend that way!

Be happy that you didn't have to use one for real - as for us....we are now going through the "temper tantrum phase". I know she will get used to it but she is trying very hard to chew it off at this minute! Its the same sort of willfullness that got her to have to wear it in the first place. I love Chessies but they can be a bit stubborn!
