You did the right thing by stopping and calling for help. I think many people would simply say, awww and continue driving. It's already good she won't have a very slow death on the streets. It would be even better if you could find a warm home and give her yummy food during her last days. You already did so much for her though, I'm sure she is grateful.

As far as the lumpy fat tumors....labs get those.

Our angel is 13 and has about four......one the size of a potato.

Our vet said not to take them off.......the risk of the surgery is not worth it.

The oozing ones do need to be looked at.

If it IS the guy whos number is on the chip shame on him, he ranks right up there with child molesters and politicians in my book. I can only hope that when that old dog meets him at the rainbow bridge she bites him in the buttocks.....

On the other hand since it is such an old chip it may be he isn't the owner. Too bad the chip doesn't contain the owners name along with the number (I don't know how these chips work). I just got a new number and apparently the previous owner of the number skipped out on a lot of bills so I am always talking to debt collectors....

I am glad you took the time to help her. The only humane thing to do is help her leave peacefully and although she has to wait 14 days at least she is being taken care of.

I agree. At least she is in care and has a kind word and pet. Much better than being abandoned on the street. If she has to be put down, at least her final days were in care.

Default Update

I got a text this afternoon from Eldad, the guy who actually drove her to his vet. He said they figured out who had her microchipped and since that person didn't want anything to do with her, he and the vet had the legal right to put her to sleep. And that's what happened today.

Rest in peace, beautiful girl. I will remember your sweet face for a long time.

I suppose it was for the best but I have to feel sad this was how it was at the end of her life.Just abandoned by her owner.

The only kindness from a stranger.

I didn't comment when I read this thread yesterday because it was too hard for me. I'm glad to hear she is no longer suffering. You really helped her when she needed it the most, atina. Thank you for being there for her.

A sad ending but in the end a loving one...I am so glad you set things in motion to get this poor girl help and comfort. Too many others would have kept walking and deemed it 'not their problem.'
