Our Doberman has slowly moved from sleeping in the laundry room on his own bed,
To sleeping outside our closed door on his bed, to sleeping all over the carpeted floor in our bedroom!!!!
I couldn't deal with all that short hair on the bed sheets, when he tested the waters and slept in our bed while we were ever out of the house.
Now, at 13 he sleeps a lot wherever we happen to be.
love this stoic boy!!!

My 2 mini dachshunds love cuddling under the blankets on my bed. I would not have it any other way!

85 lb. Baxter the Kissing collie sleeps between us in the king-sized bed. These winter nights in Wisconsin are perfect for collie cuddling<3.

With just me in the bed, my dog and cat love to cuddle. With the bf around, the dog is relegated to the floor- though I have issues with the bf's "toy dog" being in the bed as he does tend to hog the covers, big time.

I have a twin bed and a 30 pound pug/beagle mix. He used to sleep in his crate almost every night, till we finally were able to "tame" him. He LOVES my bed, too bad it's only a twin bed!! That got old real fast with this bed hog LOL, he is banished to the big chair in my room with his own blanket and pillow! He will sometimes try to get in my bed and sleep between my legs again, as soon as he gets comfortable I force him up and back on the chair he goes. He learned quickly that way.

My advice would be to keep moving him to the spot you desire. Eventually he'll probably get tired and just stay there. But that may be difficult with an 80 lb dog LOL

We have new issue with our 10-month old pup on the bed. She never stays on the bed more than a few minutes before she settles in on "her" loveseat in the bedroom. But the last few nights, during those few minutes she's on the bed with us, she will grumble or bark if either of us moves a muscle. She is a shepherd-lab-possibly collie mix, and we're wondering if she thinks we're going to get off the bed and barks to herd us back into place. Does that make any sense?

In any case, I ordered her off the bed last night and won't allow her to get away with that.

Does sound a bit alpha on her part. Good that you're nipping it in the bud. Put her in her place.

Maverick hops on the bed, but after I turn a couple times and disturb the blanket, he gets fed up and hops off to sleep on his bed or in his crate. I'm a terrible bedmate apparently.

I let all 3 of mine sleep with us. They love going under the covers. Thankfully they're yorkies so they never wake me up when they move around. I prefer them to sleep with us than in a cage.

That's Macie. She likes the idea of bedsharing more than the reality. Plus I think she gets too hot (golden retriever). Our new girl is single coated and doesn't move off the bed all night.
