Looks like he's settling it just fine. You and your family are putting out energy for kindness that reverberates throughout the world. I have to believe this.
This was a sad story at the beginning, then I'm so glad it had a happy ending. Thanks! I hope Bruce has found his forever home. Good for you for rescuing him!!!
Oh, and add my lips to the kisses your hubby is getting
Made me think of my late 2nd wife. We were only married a few weeks before she unexpectedly passed away but had known each for most of our lives. She always took in stray dogs and cats, she moved to rural Texas for work for a while and there it seems people would often dump unwanted dogs and cats. She took in scores of them and managed to find most homes but she just could not look away.
Wish your family and the pup all the best- he looks sweet.
Great story! Hugs to you and daughter for taking him in, and to hubby for saying yes! Bruce is a pretty unique looking dog.....that face and those ears.....doesn't really look boxer, or shepherd....not sure what he looks like, but he's quite handsome!
I'm sure he'll be much better off for the neutering, the humping should calm down some with that and with him settling in with the group.
He's still here...we named him Bruce. He has been humping my other dogs, a spayed female and a neutered puppy, like a maniac. We heard that even after he's neutered, it may take a few months for the humping to stop. The puppy has been fighting him off when he does it, and I think they're working out their issues, but the female seems to enjoy the attention.
We are only supposed to have two dogs per the HOA, so that is a concern. A lot of my neighbors have more than two dogs, and have as long as we've lived here. My dogs are mostly indoors, and we pick up after them outdoors, and treat them for fleas and ticks, so having a third dog here shouldn't impact the neighbors enough for anyone to complain to the HOA, hopefully. If they do, the HOA will send a letter and I will have time to find him a new home...but I hope that doesn't happen.
You should buy a lotto ticket because you just gained a lot of good karma! hehe
At first I couldn't believe how sad this story was. Then I realized that it's not so sad after all. Imagine the life this poor little guy would have endured had he not been kicked out? It sickens me to think what that husband would have done too that dog for the next 12 years. Now he has a new lease on life and has landed in a loving home.
I also am concerned about that wife. Obviously she had a connection with that dog. And it's just as clear that the dog was kicked out under his orders. Since she was so willing to go along I gotta ask what else goes on behind those closed doors. What a pig.
You're a good soul for taking this beautiful boy in and keeping him! He really is good looking! Hope no one notices your third dog, just like you said, a lot of your neighbors do it too so hopefully it won't be a problem.
