Any in here?

I've been cutting my pup (Noah)'s hair and he seems okay with it for the most part. I tried once to plug hair from his ears and he was okay with that too... but now as he grows older, he hates it. I can no longer go near his ears. What can I do to get him to let me do it again?

Can you post pictures of your shih tzu? I am trying to get an idea how to shape his face/head.

This is him now:

aww what a cute doggie!

what u can do is shave the whole face short, leave the ear hair on the outside and ear length with maybe just a small trim. Shave on top of head on a longer blade(maybe like the next length up from face blade) . and shave all body. thats if u like the short look. i have a mini poodle and thats what i do.. especiialy in the summer. i like leaving ear hair because its cute.

and i also get a "lions tail" on my poodle so that there is still some hair on the end of the tail even tho the rest is shaved short.

about the ears, u mite want to put the ear plucking powder. im assuming u already do, but maybe apply more or did u change brands? sometime some brands are different or maybe ure dog has an ear infection? i dont know.

good luck.

He is cute. You might be able to see groomers grooming shih-tzu's on utube. Would still be concerned about a possible ear infection. Is he ok w/ letting you brush him and getting out the undercoat? Maybe taking him to a groomer once in a while would work too, they do have a lot of fur. I have short-haired small dogs but take them to the groomer for their nails bc they've let it be known they're not thrilled w/ my clipping their nails and I know inevitably, I clip too short sometimes and occ. they bleed (which I try to avoid), even though we do walk them on sidewalk every day, their nails seem to grow fast. The groomer is really good w/ them. Best wishes
