If you go to Craiglist Houston, you will find tons of puppies for sale for cheap. But, if you go to any cities in North Carolina, Virginia, Philadelphia, you won't find many at all. Why?

I can't speak for any other state but you're right about Houston...and every other city in TX. It's a terrible problem and while I have my own opinion about it, it's not one I could post here.

Com'on. Post it! Is it politically incorrect or racial? It's alright. Post it!

I'll post my opinion . Texas is a state of extreme masculinity and macho attitudes. Some men do not think their dogs should be neutered because it diminishes their "manhood". They transfer their fears of their own impotence onto their dogs.

Many people in Texas will not spend the money necessary to properly care for their dogs like spaying and neutering. Unfortunately this is true all over the country (world) but I think Texas is particularly bad.

The macho attitude can be solved by just neutering the ******* then.

The ****** is "bEAtches" as in female dogs. I am sure the word is appropriately used to describe female dogs.

In my area you won't see puppies for sale on Craigslist because the humaniacs flag the ads off as soon as they are posted. They will flag off any ads for free dogs that are not already spayed or nuetered. They flag off any ad where the person placing the dog wants money for it.

So, I have no way of knowing whether or not Texas has more puppies than my local area.

It is also unfortunate that Texas appears to have so many kill shelters. Galveston County Animal Resource Center is planning a mass euthanasia. I don't understand the refusal of spaying and neutering and then these pets end up in a cage waiting to either be adopted, fostered, or killed. How big and manly is that?

I agree with you but the nice thing is some of them like the Irving shelter will allow out of State adoptions and not all shelters will allow that. They also tend to get a better variety of dogs then my local shelters 80% of our dogs are Pits or Chihuahua so when you are interested in other breeds it can be difficult to find a dog in my local shelters so thank you Texas as I got my awesome dog Chaos from Irving.
