I feed my dog a couple spoonfuls of canned dog food along with his dry kibble. I have been looking for a new canned food since my local stores stopped carrying Evangers after their recall.
I have been trying different brands. Every can I have tried seems to be so finely ground that the consistency of the food is like paste. There is absolutely no texture, no identifiable pieces of meat or veggies. If you know of a quality canned food that has some texture to it, please share. Thanks.

crockpot once a week for your dogs, its probably actually cheaper. And you can include all the tasty bits from the butcher thats good nourishment for them...
Why don't you try Honest Kitchen's dehydrated foods? It isn't canned, but it is real whole foods with chunks and bits of discernible ingredients. You could hydrate small amounts and stir into the kibble. It isn't cheap to buy the large boxes, but if you are only feeding a couple of spoonfuls each meal then it might even be cheaper (and healthier) than canned. I would think a 2 lb. box would last you a long time.

I don't feed canned dog food, but as far as I know it is all mush. The only one I know that is good food with chunks and gravy is available in Britain but not the USA.
If it is simply a treat used over the kibble, you could buy a couple of pounds of chicken thighs and crock pot that with a bit of water. Pick the bones out and you will have meat chunks and broth for a week. Keep it refrigerated.
Or, if you don't want to cook for your dog, try a bit of cottage cheese and see if he likes that. Or, open a can of evaporated milk and use a Tablespoon of that. Or a can of tuna packed in oil.
