They do adopt out of state and they already have an application on these two. So I'm happy that they will hopefully soon have a new forever home together, a bit sad that it will not be with me
but
big old black labs are kinda like NY subway trains - there will be another one (or two) along in just a short while. Should that application fall through for any reason they will be contacting me.
Lakeside Annie - I do limit myself to just old black labs/ lab mixes. Having fostered 3 young aussie pups several years ago I can tell you that even a pair of 6 year olds would be too much for me to handle. I don't have any livestock for them to work but most of neighbors do and so should they ever escape my yard they could wind up chasing/harrassing livestock and be shot for it since they most likely are not trained herders and would simply chase out of instinct.
Hopefully someone a bit younger and spryer than I will adopt them soon.
