you don't know who errol flynn was? swashbuckling guy who made movies in the 30s-50s, although his prime was definitely the 30s. great classic romantic/adventure actor. a lot of really stereotypical movie swordfight moves come from his movies. think the swordfights from the princess bride - in fact i'd say the whole character of westley is kind of an errol flynn parody.

pc looks adorable even if his mama doesn't know her cinema history!

anyway, here's sadie doing one of her favorite things:

with one of her favorite things:

with her not exactly favorite dog (but they're getting there), our neighbor livvy:

I spent my formative years in Europe, then was raised by a very European mother once we moved here. You know how you pick up things like movie stuff and sayings like, "An ounce of prevention...", from your parents? Well, I missed all that, because but know all the sayings in my first language because that's what my mama taught me. Sometimes I feel left out of conversations because I have no idea what people are talking about, but then I meet someone like you who gives me a lesson on Errol Flynn! (though Google would have done the same!) So thanks!

Oh, and PC wants to know if he can come over to play. He loves sticks and Sadie seems to have one big enough to share!

i guess you haven't heard the expression "in like flynn" either!

what's your first language, if i may ask?

and pc is welcome to share sadie's stick! she has a bulldog friend named ellie at the dog park who she gets along with very well.

Nope, never heard that! I'm telling you, every time I watch Jeopardy and they have one of those categories with things you should have learned from your parents, I feel so left out!

My first language is Polish. And I think PC and Sadie would get along well, as long as Sadie doesn't mind her stick being stolen! PC is a thief of sticks, balls, toys, etc. at the park (even though he has his own) and some dogs take offense to that!

nah, she's not competitive at all about toys (i was actually trying to get them to play tug in that third picture, but unless i was pulling on the stick they'd just co-chew). she doesn't like it when dogs get in her face or jump on her though.
