Foxy - Forgive my ignorance....I didn't know that they had fir. I thought they all were naked. So your female grows a coat and your male doesn't? BTW.....they are very pretty!!! I've also only saw ugly ones on that ugliest dog contest.

yes theres 2 coat types, the hairless (which actually comes in varying degrees of hairlessness from a true hairless (no body hair and very little "furnishings" (head, tail and feet)) hairless which has a little more on the furnishings, hairy hairless (my male) very hairy hairless (typically have alot of thin body hair and need more upkeep but most commonly seen in the show ring as they have the realy full furnishings) then theres the powderpuff, which has a full silky (often slightly curly) hair coat all over the body. (my female)
the powderpuff is great for someone who loves the breed but isnt into the hairless look, they need frequent brushing, and light colored puffs often need sunscreen, and even in full coat, because its hair rather than fur they still often need extra layers, but they dont have the skin or teeth issues common with the hairless and there stilly typically great for allergey sufferes as its hair not fur and they dont have the protain in the saliva that many people are allergic to either.
