Missy, my sweet red Doberman rescue girl. She had to be PTS in march of 2006 due to liver failure from the Diamond Pet Food aspergillus contamination.

gorgeous girl.... love the grin in the 2nd picture.....

ever since i pulled that dobie girl out of the Joplin shelter and brought her back up here to st. louis last year, i have had a new found fondness for them.... i just had not had much experience or exposure to them prior to that.... but she REALLY left a mark in my heart.....

There are DEFINITELY Doberman traits, quirks and "isms". I love the breed, but didn't go with one this time because a certain pudgy white and yellow girl climbed into my heart before I could get to the nearest Doberman rescue.

Fontucky she was a real beauty. As I have said before I have always secretly wanted a Dobie. Years and years ago I was terrified of them until I met two of the biggest mush balls of all time. From that point on I was hooked but as latetothepary says "the heart wants what the heart wants" and in the years since other love bugs have found their way to MY heart.

Please adopt one. I don't know where you are, so I can't recommend a rescue.

I live in Okla. for now I am at my limit living in an apt I already have three. But heaven forbid should something happen to one of my fur babies I do think I will look into a Dobie. A puppy would be nice but I would also consider a senior that needs a good spoiling.

So we are fostering a mama and her 5 kittens. They are so cute!! Almost 6 weeks old now, and have been eating on their own for over a week, so we were told it's ok for PC to meet them. He met 2 last week, and they hated him! I never heard kittens hiss before, and PC couldn't understand why they don't like him since he loves all creatures.

Last night, we tried with the shyest kitten, Ginger. She loved him! She never plays with the other kittens and tends to shy away from strangers, but took to PC right away! I think we'll continue to socialize her with him so that maybe she can go to a home with a cat-friendly dog.

And if anyone is interested, here are all 5 kittens and mama. So, so cute!
