After shopping yesterday, I decided to treat myself to lunch. As I was eating, I read my FaceBook and saw a plea for a home for a sweet large dog; they couldn't keep her, no collar, no microchip, had advertised for the past week with no result, all the no-kill shelters were full. They thought she was too sweet to go to the regular shelter and they were desperate.
In the photo, she looked like she had some pittie. I had been looking for a playmate for my pittie as my older GSD is just not interested in playing. So, since they were in my area, I responded. Long story short, we met halfway at a grocery and I met beautiful Belle. She went home with me! She and my pittie are outside now, romping around the backyard.
She appears to be a Plott Hound, no pittie in her. VERY intelligent, very sweet, has quickly learned the house routine and rules. Housebroken, friendly with some friends who came over last night. Success story! When I get my camera charged up, I will post some photos.
Some things are meant to be. We found a lost dog, looked for his owner, no one claimed him, a large yellow shepherd. Docile, intelligent, beautifully trained. Who would just lose a great dog? He stayed with us for the next eleven years. RIP Colonel.
Congratulations, she's a lucky pooch. I get tempted whenever I look at ads but so far have remained strong (plus we have 2). Looking forward to the pictures when you get a chance.
