My GSD was raised with several cats and she acts a bit like a cat, she'll get up on the back of the furniture like a cat, no small trick for a 60lb dog. She has also tried, and failed, LOL to climb trees when chasing the neighbor kitten that played with her. She loves Orion, her best friend next to me and lets him wash her face and ears.

Now Ben our puppy has decided he too likes the cats and has stolen their toys, he doesn't destroy them so I let him have them. The cats don't mind they just steal them back. The exception is a large donut shaped toy that has holes on one side and a ball inside. Ben adores the thing. He constantly tries to remove the ball. It's hilarious to watch. He puts his paw in, just like the cat, the ball skitters around and he tries to catch it. He is mesmerized by it! He hits it with his paw and it clatters across the floor and he chases it. I'm a bit surprised he hasn't chewed it but so far he hasn't. If he begins to I'll have to take it away but for now it's his favorite toy! Poor Joe, the cat, is annoyed because it was his favorite toy. I'll have to get another one so they can each have one.

I feel like I live in a pet day care there are so many toys around, the cats move the soft ones from room to room so I never know where I'll find them

One of my dogs likes the cats' ring with the ball in it too. Her big clodhoppers don't fit in the hole, but she'll stick her tongue in there and flip the ball around, or move the whole ring with her paw. Eventually she picks it up in her mouth, and I take it away and put it in the "cats' room" behind the baby gate.

In books on toy dogs it actually says to buy cat toys. In my Papillion book says they are Cat like in playing & grooming themselves.
