BTW, she's bigger than a Pit at 3 months. She is only about 3 or 4 months old according to the vet and she's already 34lbs :P

I think she looks like this mastiff/lab

Except of course with different coloring, so mastiff/lab/pitt definitly isn't ruled out

Brooklyn is only 48 pounds and he's 1 year 8 months, but he grew pretty quickly and just seemed to kind of stop! lol! He honestly hasn't gotten much bigger than he was at about 8-9 months. He has gotten more muscle definition and lost that puppy look, but that's about it. Because she is a big bigger than the average APBT, I would have to guess she's a Boxer/ APBT mix. She has the Boxer/ APBT face, and she's brindle like a lot of Boxers and APBTs are.
Here's a picture of Brooklyn when he was about 8 months old. Well, actually, I think he was 6 months or so in this picture. The date on the picture is just the date I uploaded it to the computer and cropped it. The picture was taken a couple months before that date. I think Brooklyn's head is a bit wider than hers, but it's not uncommon for female APBTs to have slightly smaller heads than the males.
I think that the little girl and Brooklyn look a lot alike! And Brooklyn is 100% APBT! Brooklyn has his ears laid back and the girl has hers perked up, but besides that, they look alike. Also, if you look at Destiny and Jayda, our two female APBTs, they have the same heads.
Like I said, I really think she looks like an APBT, either that or an APBT/ Boxer mix, some other type of APBT mix, or some other type of Boxer mix.
You should take her for a nice long jog and see if she has the huge pitty smile! lol!

[quote=APBT_Samara;2117053]I'm just not so sure, isn't the body/head color that of a Pit Bull (and several other breeds). The dog looks brindle with a black mask. Could also be mastiff. I haven't seen a Lab with a black mask? Not that I remember anyway. A brindle lab I suppose could have a black mask but they are rare.
The mouth as well could be that of a Pit.
Its a possibility for boxer/lab. These and other breeds mentioned could be possible. I see the Pit mix as well but don't know 100% because breeds can look so much alike. In that 2nd pic it kind of looks like boxer or mastiff body? The face does somehow remind me of a lab or plott hound.
Pits can certainly be brindle/black mask though.
I'm trying to find pics of Pits around the same age to help compare. Maybe as your pup grows you can better tell?
Trying to see if their is similarity

What is “pit patching”?
Pit Bulls come in brindle. Brindle can vary (as far as pattern/color) from dog to dog.
These are brindle APBTs

If she is 4 months and that big is really large for a pure bred, but if she is a mix of lab and pit or mastiff and pit that would be possible. Do you have any more pics? I do kind of see maybe mastiff? In that pic from the side looks like that body type.

Whatever she is, she is cute.

More dogs then just Rottweilers come in Black & Tan. Having people ask if they are Rottweiler or APBT/Rottweiler mix (which doesn't even genetically make sense) is very tiring. White markings anywhere on a Rottweiler is a fault and not commonly seen.

His white is better shown in this picture AND his brindle. I don't think Rotts have genes for brindle. Someone else might know.

Here is my husbands boy. His sire is also a tri and a Champion. It is AST that tan point is a fault not APBT.

I'm just curious why you would say that? Pit Bulls can be solid colored without a single white marking. Most true OFRN dogs have no white at all. One of my dogs sires is a solid Fawn/Rednose with no white anywhere and is a CH, his son has placed great so far who is buckskin/rednose and has a tiny white mark on his chest, it has actually seemed to fade with age. One of my CH males is the same.
Yet Boxers generally have a lot of white markings, flashy white markings is preferred in the breed as long as the white doesn't exceed 1/3 of the body. Some Boxers might not have a lot of white but then neither dog some Pits.

I was sure I read this somewhere cause I have an amstaff mix, so i got out my pitbull for dummies book and realized i read the sentence wrong...so yea they don't have to have white markings, quite a few do though.

Ok I see, just threw me for a loop.
Do you have any pics of your dog? If you haven't posted in the pet picture gallery (I haven't check it in a few days) yet?
Isn't somethings in that book inaccurate also?
