Imagine you are in a 5 star restaurant...

A waiter in black tie and tails serves you a nice juicy prime rib dinner...

You immediately grab the prime rib off the plate, get up from the table and walk a few steps away, then throw it on the floor and start chewing on it there!

But you go back to your plate to eat the mashed potatoes and vegetables.

That is what my dogs do when I feed them certain things in their bowl. Some things they must take away from the bowl and eat on the floor. Other things they eat out of the bowl.

Why do dogs do this? (Come to think about it, I guess they only take items "to go" which are all in one big piece.)

Wow do you fed your dogs wearing black tie and tails??? Maybe that is the problem with my VERY elegant but fussy Dazzle...can you come feed him for me?

Actually ,most of my dogs did not do take out as they do/did gulp down where it was like a very powerful Hoover passed over the bowl of food and within seconds it is all gone

My mom gives her dogs a few baby carrots with their dinner. One of the dogs takes the carrots, one by one, back to his cage and eats them there. The rest of the dog food he eats out of his bowl. His cage is a few rooms away from where he eats, so its always funny to see him run back and forth as he goes back for more carrots.

The other dog used to take a mouthful of food and take it somewhere else to eat, but she doesn't do that anymore.
