Looks like a good list to me.

It is a good list...and I just knew the Chia-hua-hua was not going to be on that list, especially in AZ, with "packs" running wild. "Dogs gone wild - AZ addition" Sorry, I could not resist.

It is always good to see Pitties in a top ten friendliest list. Mine have been clowns, loving and oh so forgiving. ((Such a wonderful breed when you stripe away the media crap.))

Thank you for yet another wonderful post!

It is a good list but I am surprised Golden Retriever is not on there. IMO, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is the friendliest breed out there...surprised to see it isn't the top or near top breed.

Saw and posted an article recently about how King Charles Spaniels are suffering from very small and damaged brains because of poor breeding.

I'm sure many of us would name our own favorite breed(s). I vote Bichon Frise and Maltese.

I'm not surprised either that Pitties are on the list-- ours is so friendly and affectionate. Our other dog, a Boston Terrier, also made the list.

Here's a pretty good article on Pitties, trying to dispel that many myths.

the cavalier truly is "different" than other breeds in it's desire and need to be friendly. It is a trait bred into them for hundreds of years.

the cavaliers have always had trouble with hearts and brains, just like most pure bred dog have issues that can effect them. shepherds have hip displayed, dachshunds bad backs. the list is endless with what "can" go wrong with most pure breed dogs.

I'm really surprised that Pugs did not make it onto the list. They are the only breed that was bred as a pet.
While extremely friendly, I am not surprise that Irish Wolfhounds did not make it. Their size alone makes them intimidating. However, they are one of the most gentle breeds there are. Perhaps it is not just their size that kept them off the list, but their lack of popularity.
Seems like all the dogs on the list are the more popular breeds.
If the list was compiled through a poll, then it makes sense.

"Staffordshire Terrier" itself isn't a breed. Staffordshire BULL terrier or American Staffordshire terrier? They are not one in the same, two completely different dogs (albeit both are bully breeds)
